basic tuna salad with dill

this is one of the easiest yet most delicious ways to prepare tuna for sandwiches, crackers, melts, salads (i never quite understood that, but why not?). the key is the fresh dill, do not substitute that dry flavorless stuff for fresh dill.

basic tuna salad
2 5 ounce cans of tuna
2 stalks celery, diced
3 sprigs of dill, finely chopped (about 3 tablespoons)
juice of 1/2 lemon
1/4 cup mayonnaise, plus more to taste
salt and pepper to taste

first, mash the tuna so there aren’t any large flakes. it is much easier to do before you start adding things.

add the celery, dill, and lemon juice and mix well.

add the mayonnaise, mix well, and add more to your liking.

season with salt and pepper.

eat! i made a tuna melt but my favorite way to eat this is on crackers with pickle and cheddar cheese.
